We have been assaulted in these last few days with situations that are just not tolerable. We keep hearing that there is no room for racism and yet it seems to grow. There are no excuses. There are no reasonable justifiable accounts that would support racism. None.
The latest event of the wiping out of a family, just because they are Muslim. Again their is no excuse for this crime. The photo I have used for this post, is an indication that despite the hardness of society, and the appearing impossibilities that create a ground of impossibilities, there is still the Rose of hope that pushes above the turmoil of ignorance.
We can question one's faith, sexuality, culture, and religion. We can request to be left alone to live in peace. What we can not support though is the shear madness of hate that is willing to snuff out the lives of individuals and families.
I believe in the inclusiveness of humanity and have been taught that from the beginning. I have been taught that all lives matter and that all lives are precious. As a student of theology, I find no support for racism in scriptures. God formed mankind in His image, which is inclusive of every person regardless of who they are. We are obliged to respect each and every person we come in contact with and that respect includes all of mankind no matter how difficult that might be.
The teachings of Jesus also requires followers of His teachings to be inclusive of everyone. The best example is the parable of the Good Samaritan. The Apostles taught inclusiveness and suffered for their convictions of being inclusive as that was part and parcel of the message of Jesus to the world. The whole function of the scriptures is the ability to live in peace and commonality with everyone around us. So there are no excuses for racism.
