A lot has been said, but a lot has been kept silent.

In the last month, Canada has come face to face with it's own history.  Right now, it doesn't matter who's at fault, nor does it matter that fingers are being pointed, anger that has been smoldering is coming to flame.  It doesn't matter who's involved really, as long as the truth comes out.  However not all the truth is allowed to come out.

This week a priest was dismissed from his parish because of what he said.  The only part of his message was focused on and nothing more.  I don't know his total sermon, I don't know what his intension was.  Unless you were there in the congregation, only the "offending part" of his message was capitalized on and nothing else.

What seen as offensive was perhaps right and correct in saying.  What was reported was that "he felt there may have been some good for some people within the residential school system.  But we can't know for sure because we're not allowed to ask questions."   I can't help thinking that the outcome of his message was exactly what his message was about.  He was dismissed for telling a possible truth.  He was dismissed because he said "we are not allowed to ask questions" when it comes to residential schools.

Residential schools were wrong in the first place.  There's no question about that.  In saying that however, anything that might be positive about the residential schools is being suppressed.  There is only one outcome of the residential school and anything else is wrong no matter who says it.  There is only one view point of the residential schools and if anyone has an alternative concept or knowledge, or understanding, is not acceptable and therefore can not be spoken about.

Just being a devil's advocate here; what if there was something positive, some positive experience that someone had?  Can they not express it?  The answer is no.  There is only one fact and anything else is offensive.  Only one side is being heard and anything else is forbidden.  The program agenda has been set and there is nothing else to be considered.

In the arena of the single thinking, there is no room for other thoughts nor experiences.  There is only one side to be considered.  It is interesting that since only one side is being considered, it enables blame to be pointed, the most harshest of criticisms are being developed and only one side is to be expressed that will obtain a desired result.  While the truth is wanted to be made free to show the horror of the residential schools, anything that does not fit into the established program, is not accepted no matter who says it.

Social conditioning has developed only one concept.  Social conditioning enables abuse of a system or abuse of a thought, or an abuse of the realities good or bad.  Was the priest wrong in saying what he said?  No he wasn't.  He was absolutely correct.  We are not allowed to ask questions if there was anything positive that might have come out of the residential school system.  To be allowed to ask questions, would affect and effect the desired accusations being said.

The accepted concept is that the Canadian government of the times, were committing genocide.  That is and has been the "accepted" condemnation that has been created.  That is why it is so important to have only one side of a story heard.  That is why anyone who suggests anything that may be different is immediately silenced and forbidden of saying anything else.

There is no doubt that an Indigenous Holocaust took place in Canada.  At the same time, if there is a story to be told by someone who had a different experience, should that not be heard as well?
