 I was watching a you tube news break which followed the Ontario Minter of Health, who suggested more than once the concept of a "needed" medical passport that people will be compelled to carry with them all the time.

She suggested that those who are not vaccinated may suffer consequences in that their civil liberties could be, or even would be taken away from them if they continued to refuse or not be vaccinated.  She further suggested that a health passport may be needed to gain employment, go to the grocery store, restaurants, bars, concerts, and theaters just to name a few.   These restrictions would be government approved and would not be contested.

I can understand being vaccinated in order to travel to another country as people will likely have to obtain visas from the different governments, meaning that trips to foreign countries. will require individuals to carry proof of their vaccinations in order to obtain a passport/vise to travel.

If Ontario moves towards a vaccination passport, the country will move in the same direction and people will be issued a "Canadian Health Passport" which will need to be up dated yearly showing not just your covid vaccination, but all other vaccinations.  Again this passport will have to be carried at all times and shown upon request before entering a store, mall, schools, universities, churches and the list goes on.

Our civil liberties are being violated over and over again and we as Canadians need to stand up against these abuses and violations of our civil liberties.   I have also noticed the government's propaganda being broadcasted and it is already working.  People who do not wear a mast are being challenged to the point of being charged, expelled from stores, barred from entering a theater and in some cases just walking down the street.   The government is making it the fault of the people who are not vaccinated as the problem people that everyone needs to keep away from.  

Fascism appears - if and when people will be told to carry vaccination passports.  Remember people who have been getting their vaccinations already, are given a paper to prove they have had their vaccinations.  The next step is coming. 

No Country in the World has Solved Climate Change Through Taxation

 Canadians have been duped over the years to believe that somehow climate change can be controlled.  The environmentalists believe that governments have the magical ability to change the weather, control climate change.  These same environmentalists believe that through taxation, paying fees, and controlling the population that changes will appear and that there has to be "sacrifice" in order to accomplish these changes.

Taxation and fees only impoverish the population, which also leads to demands of increased wages in order the pay for the demands being made by the government in their stupidity that they can control the weather and the environment.    The idea of high taxes on fossil fuels is to control the population, to impoverish them so that they can not drive their vehicles, therefore they can't go to work, can't go visiting, can't go on vacation.  The idea is that if the majority of the population can't drive, they won't use fossil fuels, through taxation the population will be forced to comply.  The total direction is to move the population to wind and solar energies which must to everyone's surprise is not efficient.  Energy being produced can not be saved and reliance on nuclear energy and hydro generated power is a must.

But what governments ignore in their greed to strip the population of any and all wealth, especially here in Canada, the exclusion of Canada's forests in their calculations concerning co2 emissions. 

 From the very beginning of C02 calculations, Canada has failed to use the abundance of trees that are available.  This first began with the Kyoto Protocol and again in the agreements made in Brazil's climate change G8 meetings.   Canada has been deliberately told that the forests can not be used in the calculations of Co2 emissions.   As a result, any calculations made by the government is a total lie when it comes to emissions.

Let's be honest as well.  Russia, China, India, Brazil, have never signed onto any climate change agreements regardless if these policies are made in the United Nations or any G8/G20 summit meeting.  They are not the only ones either.  It is estimated that nearly 100 plus nations have not signed any climate change agreement, not even in Paris, the latest summit in the list of many.

The reality then is that all of the countries that have signed onto these agreements have this self glorifying concept that they are out to save the world from a doom that they knowingly can not stop nor control on a massive scale like they believe they are able to.  Canada is no different when it comes to the liberal party, the green party, and the ndp.  They all have this delusional self gratifying concept that they will save the world from Co2 emissions when in reality they can't, won't be able to, and can never achieve their falsifying goals.

To this end, the liberal party is content to destroy and dissolve Canada's resources of fossil fuel, and become reliance once more on Arab fossil fuels in order to produce the plastics that are needed in vehicle manufacturing, cosmetics, and the list goes on and on and on of products Canadians are dependent upon each and every day.

To think, let alone to continue the drink the environmental kool-aid is not just a travesty but a full demonstration of the gullibility of individuals.  The global climate change will continue no just the same and to think anything different is ridiculous and is only an act of self serving "poor me" ideology.  

Cancel Culture - what is their real goal, if they actually have one.

 With the latest cancelation of Pepi Le Peu the cancel culture barbarians have their eyes on something else.  What they thought would gather momentum for their cause, it turned out going in the opposite direction where they are laughed at and ridiculed.  They want Dr. Seuss books, which turned into a shopping spree as book stores were beginning to sell out of copies of those dadsterly books.

The cancel culture has gone after statues, stirring up docile mobs that otherwise wouldn't a given a rat's but about the statues.   There is a feeling of success in some directions, but it appears that now people are fed up and are doing what ever they can to mock the cancel culture barbarians.

But I wonder if this isn't all added up to covid-19?  I can't help see the change in the people's attitudes.  There appears to be anger in the air and it seems to becoming easier and easier to get the mobs together and protest what ever someone wants them too.  Covid-19 has brought the worst out of people who we know are tired of being forced to stay at home.  The protests for loss of freedoms goes into many directions, but it all comes back to the concept that people are tired of being told what to do, where they can go, and how many can be in their group.

On the positive side, the governments are being challenged in the courts.  People are taking their fines into court action instead of just paying the fines.  People and organizations are filing law suits against the governments on constitutional grounds.  These are good actions and need to be done.  Until the federal government enacts the Emergency Measures Act at the federal level, the charter of rights and freedoms and the constitution of Canada are still valid and it is becoming more and more clear to be written in stone.  Many of the law suits against the governments have been won by the little person and the governments have been put into a position of picking their fights.

As the cancel culture continues to find more excuses to validate their stupidity, they are pulling people into their sheep pens hoping that their leftist call to follow gives them more subjects to protest and make demands.  What is sad is that governments and companies are terrified of the leftist goons and bend at the slightest propaganda steeped in stupidity.

They all appear to be coming together.  People want to get out.  People want to socialize.  People want to freely travel and roam the country.  People want to go someplace without having to sit in isolation before they can visit or go on their vacation.   As a result people are thwarting the rules and telling the governments and the health units to go pound salt.

It seems to fit together.  What do you think

Road to Nowhere

 We some times feel that we are traveling on a road that leads nowhere in particular or even to anywhere.  These are emotions that seem to come to the forefront of our thoughts and minds, wishing for something different, something more, something other than.

Today I took a walk down Hastings street or road that starts at the corner of where I live in Long Point.  It was only a 30 minute walk or so, likely about a single kilometer to be honest.  It's been a long time since I took a walk for the hell of it. A want and need to get outside.  The ice walls are melting and to be honest they look terrifyingly awesome.  There is an inspired hope that there will be more beach this year along parts of Long Point if not all of it.   Word already has spread that every space in the provincial park is booked for the summer season already, and any available space in a rented cottage has already been booked for the summer, some charging as high as two thousand dollars a week.

People are getting ready to step out, to get away from the city and urban centers and take in the lake front communities.  People are tired of the covid propaganda demanding stay at home and the list goes on and on.  Even after massive vaccination programs, the governments are still demanding people stay home.

Meanwhile the road to nowhere is being travelled upon by many people who are tired.  They are tired of the lockdowns.  They are tired of the ability of neighbours to call the local by-law office and the police to report a neighbour they don't like saying they are violating restrictions.

Meanwhile the governments are encouraging their counter parts if office to accept legislation that extends the so called "emergency powers" into regular powers of the premier or prime minister to maintain a more authoritarian rule over the population.

What is being pushed aside in the communities, are people who are suffering from loneliness and depression.  The ambarella term for it all is called "mental illness".  Suicides have been reported as being an increased problem.  Opioid overdoses are on the rise, taking more lives.  Family break ups are on the rise, and marital unions are being destroyed.  Meanwhile only covid propaganda has become the main stream of media continual number crunching reporting which doesn't make sense half the time.

Military tents were seen being erected at hospital parking lots in Toronto, advertising that a third wave of covid is on the way, a wave that was once predicted to happen near the end of April, especially after spring break and Easter weekend.  Let us not forget that the government has already said that a fourth wave will arrive at the end of the summer holidays to half way in September.  Strange how these waves have been planned out already.

The cause of lockdowns, isolations, vaccinations, social distancing, wearing masks and the fear in the minds of people are taking a toll that the governments and the health unit doctators are refusing to acknowledge.  The greater goal is to end the virus, when in reality it seems that the governments are more interested in maintaining fear in the minds of the people.  While the governments wallow in the filth and muck of authoritarian rule, heath unit doctors are given powers they were never entitled to have.  The people have been put in a state of fear causing them to obey and relish in crumbs of government handouts in exchange for the false hope and belief that the governments know what's best.

I somehow would like to believe that the road to nowhere will lead to somewhere.  I would like to believe that somewhere is better than what is being traveled on at the present time.  We all look forward to a time where no one will be required to wear a mask, where we can touch and feel someone close to us and not be afraid to visit friends and relatives.  I would like to think that this road to nowhere will lead to somewhere that is a lot better than the road the governments have chosen to push us towards.

The road leading to nowhere, perhaps has a place for compassion, where we can gather to support each other instead of fearing each other.  Perhaps somewhere along the road leading to nowhere has a house with a warm fire in the fireplace.  The smell of fresh bread baking, the aroma of food cooking.  That cup of coffee or tea waiting for us to enjoy.  Life returning to the flame of hope, where we can come together and be with each other just because.  A home where fear is left outside in the cold where it belongs, and people inside sing and laugh together, and even dance together in songs of merriment and fun.

When you get to that house on the road to nowhere, know that you are welcomed there.  Know that you are encouraged to stop, relax, enjoy the atmosphere of company and compassion.  Know that when you get to that house along the road to nowhere, that you have arrived somewhere and you are encouraged to enter into that house without fear, no mask, no social distancing,  A gathering of friends and families, a place of compassionate adventures.  Good food, good company, good grace and hope.

Perhaps our dreams of such a place along the road to nowhere, is somewhere we have seen before but never stopped to step inside.  Somewhere there is a house along the road to nowhere.  Step inside for you will be welcomed.  There will be good food, a warm hearth and most of all, good company.

We Are Not In Kansas Any More

 I know that there are many people who are saying that I am taking things to the extreme, and that what I am suggesting is just a figment of my imagination.  That may be so, but if the use of extreme photos to convey an extreme opinion is needed, than so be it.

If Canadians are believing that once this covid crap is finished everything will be back to normal, they are so mistaken.  The government of Ontario for example has already passed legislation giving the premier of the province powers that were once only reserved for emergency situations.  I believe the bill is called Bill 195.  This bill was questioned and voted against by one of the members of the conservative party.  As a result of her questioning, the premier and leader of the conservative party expelled her from the party.  She now sits in the provincial legislature as an independent.  It wasn't long before she was joined by another member of the conservative party, who questioned the premier publicly.

Both the federal and the provincial governments throughout Canada have created policies that are in direct violation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Constitution of Canada.  The provinces have taken it upon themselves to pass legislations and policies, disguised as "Emergency Measures" or what ever colourful name they want to give.  Travel between some provinces have been stopped.  Everyone is being forced into isolation in their homes and lately in isolation camps of undisclosed locations.

All indications that everything will return back to normal or as it was in 2019 or even 2020 is a false concept.  The provincial and federal governments have already shut down the old road, and are now forcing the population to go down a new road.  A road that they have paved themselves with more and more authoritarian rule.  So called "vaccination passports" are and will be a reality.  

Travel documents will soon become mandatory as we have witnessed in the United Kingdom, where travel is restricted to essential travel only and all foreigners must obtain certain travel documents before entering the United Kingdom.  Inter provincial travel is being questioned and considerations are being made concerning travel through out Canada.

Already asymptomatic people are being isolated by governments.   At first, people who showed nor symptoms of the covid virus were ignored, but not anymore.  Asymptomatic individuals have been told to get tested for the virus and then told to isolate themselves.  Because asymptomatic people don't know if they have the virus or not, they have been deemed problematic and are slowly being made problematic individuals.  The suggested fear is that asymptomatic people can spread the virus because they don't know they have it.  Despite the total lack of evidence, asymptomatic people are being moved into the "escape goat" section of society.

It is because of asymptomatic people, that everyone in society must wear a mask and commit to social distancing.  It is because of asymptomatic people that the need for isolation is demanded.  It is because of asymptomatic people that everyone needs to be tested weekly, and yet, there is no evidence to suggest that just asymptomatic people are the cause of spreading a virus.

Canadians have already been told that they will require a "booster shot" every year just like the flue shot in order to stay "virus free".  Just like the flue shot stopped people from catching the flue, or even the common cold.  This suggests the need for a "vaccination passport", a passport that one will need to get a job, go to school, college or university.  One will need a vaccination passport to go to restaurants, bars and hotels and motels.  In Ontario is was suggested that a vaccination passport be used as part of everyday life, which will be needed to show upon request by individuals in authority.

As Canadians are being lulled into the usual sleepy Canadian comma, governments are planning the next steps in their design for authoritative rule.  Canadians have already been encouraged to put the app on their cell phones that will track their movements.  This app is disguised as telling a person if they have come into contact with a person who has had the virus or has the virus.  The idea is that app will be used to locate every person an individual has come in contact with in the name of "the health and safety of the public".   This stuff is out there already and it wouldn't take much of an effort to digitalize a vaccination passport for your cell phones, which they have already obtained and developed.  

Right now one needs a passport to travel about the world.  Being added to that passport right now is the requirements of "showing proof" one has been tested before getting onto a flight.  In Canada not only does one need to show papers of being tested before they get on a plane, they must now take another test when they land and endure forced isolation for three days.  If the test show positive than the person is taken to another isolation location.  If the test is negative than the person must spend the remainder of of the fourteen days in isolation at home with an official doing spot checks to make sure you are at home.

How much more evidence do Canadians need to show that an authoritative government is here to stay, that Canadians will be required to carry a vaccination passport, that your freedoms to move about is being restricted and that your freedom of speech is also being curtailed.  Canadians need to realize that they are not in the Canada they once believed to be theirs.  

 

Religious Freedoms Are A Danger To Governments

 

Pastor Coates has spent weeks in prison for a crime that is not punishable with jail time

As I write this column, Pastor James Coates is still in the Edmonton Remand Centre awaiting his trial on May 3-5. He was arrested in mid-February for failing to comply with Jason Kenney’s unscientific and unconstitutional health orders that restrict the freedom of Pastor Coates and his Grace Life Church to worship God as God calls them to worship.
Unless the Justice Centre secures his release from prison prior to trial, Pastor Coates will spend a total of eleven weeks in jail for a provincial infraction that is not punishable by jail time.

Are health orders scientific? The Alberta government–and governments around the world–continue to restrict our rights and freedoms based on their belief that healthy, asymptomatic people are significant spreaders of COVID. Hence the laws mandating masks and prohibiting normal and healthy social interactions between people. The politicians’ belief in asymptomatic spread is unfounded.

A meta-analysis of 54 studies from around the world, published by the National Library of Medicine found that within households (which lack the safeguards applied by restaurants, businesses and churches) symptomatic patients passed on the disease to household members in 18 percent of instances, while asymptomatic patients passed on the disease to household members in 0.7 percent of instances.

This is confirmed by a separate, smaller meta-analysis. I’ve repeatedly asked the Alberta government to produce the science that would support the notion that asymptomatic people are dangerous spreaders, but to no avail. We’re told that government policies are “scientific” but when you ask to see the science, none is provided.

Restricting the rights and freedoms of the entire population for 12 months (and counting), and preventing millions of people from earning a livelihood, has never been tried in human history as a way to beat a virus. Moreover, Covid’s survival rate is 99.7 percent, and this virus poses no threat to roughly 90 percent of people. Why not focus our efforts on protecting the vulnerable 10 percent, and do so without harming the physical, mental, emotional, social and financial well-being of the entire population?

Like most people, Pastor Coates and his church complied fully with health orders in March of 2020, when the world was terrorized by the fearmongering predictions of Neil Ferguson of Imperial College. Twelve months later, the data and statistics from governments around the world tell us that COVID warrants only a small fraction of the fear we ascribe to it. Further, once a virus is out and about, it cannot be stopped by destroying the economy, by forcing people to reduce their social interactions to a two-dimensional computer screen, or by closing houses of worship.

As we progressed through 2020, the government restrictions on our freedom to move, travel, associate, assemble and worship made less and less sense. What became more apparent with time is the massive harm that lockdowns inflict: deaths from cancelled surgeries and delayed surgeries; deaths from cancer because of delayed MRIs and CT scans; deaths from drug overdoses and suicides; unemployment; poverty; isolation and loneliness leading to stress, anxiety, and depression; children told to live in fear, deprived of sports, recreation and healthy social interactions; and massive new debt that our children and grandchildren must repay.

Backed by science and called by God, Grace Life and its pastors have displayed the courage to hold full church services since July of 2020, in the face of weekly harassment and intimidation by Jason Kenney’s ever-growing army of health inspectors.

When the Alberta Government argued at a March 4, 2021 court hearing that Pastor Coates should remain in jail for another eight weeks pending his trial in May, Crown prosecutor Karen Thorsrud presented no evidence that full churches pose any threat to public health.

The government’s failure to provide evidence, after nearly a full year of violating the Charter freedoms of Albertans, is a disgrace. Governments have had an easy ride these past 12 months, using news conferences to declare repeatedly that their lockdowns are “scientific” and “evidence-based.”

Pro-lockdown media were–and still are–more than happy to spread the government’s message of fear, citing meaningless numbers of “cases” based on unreliable PCR tests which were never designed to diagnose COVID.

Fortunately, the Alberta government cannot rely on press releases at the trial of Pastor Coates in May. The health orders themselves will be on trial, accused of unjustifiably violating fundamental Charter freedoms. The Charter places the onus on government, not on Pastor Coates, to show that it is truly necessary and beneficial to violate citizens’ rights and freedoms.

In court in May, for the first time since lockdowns were imposed, the Alberta government will have to provide compelling evidence to support its theories. The government will have to show that COVID is an unusually deadly killer, when Statistics Canada tells us it is not.

The government will have to show that asymptomatic people spread the virus, when science tells us that only sick people are serious spreaders. The government will have to provide actual evidence to support its claim that lockdowns save lives; mere assertions won’t suffice.

The government will have to respond to the data showing that hospitals have already been overcrowded for many years, long before Covid arrived, and the data showing that ICU admissions in Alberta were actually down in 2020, not up. Last but not least, the government will have to answer for all of the massive harms that lockdowns have caused, and are still causing, and prove that lockdowns do more good than harm.

Currently there is no justice for Pastor Coates in jail. But his trial in May will provide an opportunity for justice for millions of Albertans and millions of Canadians.

Papers Please -- show me your papers.

 For the last few months, actually for a while now, there has been talk of "Vaccination Passports".  Many have shrugged their shoulders in a don't care attitude, or even a so what.  As the majority of the people continue to believe "It won't effect me as I obey the rules so I'm not worried".  The governments are counting on that.  They are counting on a passive acceptance without any problems from the general public.  After all in other authoritarian governments, everyone seems to be happy and content.

In Canada as long as my pocket change isn't effected, and I can still buy alcohol and I have some form of domestic life to make love to, I'm okay.   And that is what the government is hoping.

I have been called an extremist in many things, but as a student of history, I can see a development being created.  In the news today it was suggested that those people who have been vaccinated be given special privileges (expressed as a reward) for complying with federal and provincial orders to get vaccinated.

In order to enforce these "rewards" a needed piece of paper is going to have to be required so that policing these "rewards" can be obtained.  If you have been vaccinated you can meet in public at a bar or restaurant without wearing a mask or social distancing.  The door is being opened for a way to police the "privileges" that will come with a "vaccination passport".  With your papers you can apply for a job, enter a store without wearing a face mask, and the list continues to grows.

Without really seeing it, a two tiered society is being created.  One with the papers and one with out the papers.  The government encourages everyone to be vaccinated so that you get vaccination papers that will open all sorts of doors for you without restrictions.  Without it, you become less than a second class person.  You are considered "rebellious" even though there may be medical reasons why one can not receive a vaccination.  

People scoff that the concept at the present time, and yet the governments both federal and provincial are planning for such a situation to become a reality.  Before anyone will realize it, the question "Papers Please" will become a reality even to go shopping.  No papers, wear a mask, social identification and social distancing done differently.

 

The Cancelation Culture is at it again, but they aren't alone.

 Who would have thought that the 22 century would usher in a global culture of cup cakes and whine at everything and are offended by everything.  It has come to a point where a division has formed with in all aspects of society. 

When I was in university, we defined a "revolution" as an event that changed the social diagram of any particular nation.  That is why there is the American Revolution, the French Revolution, the Chinese Revolution, the Spanish Revolution and the Russian Revolution.  These were political and violent in nature but when completed changed the face of that society and culture.

Then you had a different revolution that also changed society but in a quieter and different way.  There was the Industrial Revolution, the Quiet Revolution in Quebec (it took 10 years to complete) and the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s, and other revolutions that developed, were less or no violent but changed societies.

The present development of change is coming through a revolution, which has been expressed as the Cancel Culture where by past events in history, culture, and literature are looked at through 22 century eyes.  Nothing is safe and everything is in danger of being torn down.  Somewhat like the Chinese Cultural Revolution where a group of people decided what others should think, express, and accept as their duty to support.  Statues are being defaced and taken down,  Literature is being rescreened through censorship eyes and ordered off the shelves of book stores and libraries.  Dr. Seuss is just the latest in material deemed racist and "wrong thinking".   Historical figures are being re-evaluated through 22 centuries eyes that have no concept of the reasons or the concepts of 18th, 19th, and 20th century ideology.  This in itself is wrong.  Even movies like "Gone With the Wind" are being shown with conditions edited into the movie, suggesting the decisions and expressions of 22nd century eyes.

What has been done has been done and to believe that one can hide or change or re-write history is the highest level of ignorance and stupidity.  I have books that are out of print that express a concept that is in opposition to what I accept today.  But that doesn't give me the right to "burn the books of the past" because I don't like what they say, or the books express a different ideology.  No, I keep these books and use them as examples of how people thought and expressed themselves in the past and use those very same concepts to learn from and to develop my concepts of reality.

My library does not reflect all of my thoughts in life.  My library exposes me to many different opinions and thoughts, allowing me to venture my way through these past events and literature and developing my own ideas and understanding.  I learn from the past as to how not to repeat the past and point therefore to a better understanding.

But I don't have the right to destroy evidence of the past because it offends me.  I don't have the right to demand that others follow my distorted ideas of being offended.  The Cancel Culture seems to believe that they have the authority and the censorship right to enforce their ideologies upon the rest of the society.

This includes organizations like Black Lives Matter, or left wing groups that refuse to allow conservative view points from being expressed.  These groups are fascist in nature and demand that everyone follow them and listen to them only and that any other ideology other than theirs can not be heard.  This is wrong, wrong, wrong no matter how many times I can say it.

Authoritarian rule is being accepted and demanded by the very organizations and thinking of those who express - no - demand the freedom to express themselves.  Freedom of Speech has become conditional.  Freedom of the press has become conditional.  Freedom to assemble and express ideas has become conditional.  Universities are no longer the bastions of freely debated ideas.  Universities have become "conditional" speech and thought.  Everyone must have the right thinking and therefore have the right expression.  These conditional concepts have now found their way into general society.

While people sleep, the "new age of conditional thinking" has taken hold.  While the lights of liberty are being snuffed out by the likes of Canceled Culture, a new era of authoritarian rule is creeping in.  Soon everyone will be required to think the same, act the same dress the same, and respond on que the same.  Freedom's bells are being silenced and taken down before anyone realizes what is going on.  

History is not ours to ignore nor get rid of

 With the present situation of people being offended by historical happenings, they seem to believe that it is okay to take down statues, remove books from shelves, and the destruction of anything historical that happens to offend someone on the smallest of reasons.

Excuses have been created to get people on their side.  Excuses are being created to force people to agree with their futile reasonings for fear of being called a racist, bigot, and the list goes on and on.  It is disgraceful that these people continual to force their viewpoints on the rest of society.  It is shameful to say the least.

The removal and desecration of statues and even works of art and burning of books can only express the ignorance and small mindedness of individuals who practice culture canceling as a form of cleansing society.  History can not be changed, it is what it is.  Research if valuable in gaining new evidence and a new understanding of countries, cultures, and societies.  As one person said: "If Columbus still affects you, perhaps you need to reconsider your priorities.  We are to learn from the past, not recreate the past to make it fit into the present cultures.   What happened in 1492 should be a learning experience.  We are not to live as if we are still in 1492 and haven't the courage nor the sense to move ahead.

History is something to learn about so not to make the same mistakes or errors.  

Where is the evidence to support the closure of religious worship in BC?

Where is the evidence to support the closure of religious worship in BC?

Health Care has been found wanting.

 Health Care in Canada has been a train wreck waiting for more cars to pile up.  When universal health care was first introduced into Canada, there was conflict to begin with, but the program proved to be working well.

The federal government spent a dollar for every dollar spent by the provinces.  The provinces ran the program and the federal government kept an eye on it, as long as the program was working.  Everything was fine to be basically honest.  The people enjoyed "free health care" which was paid for by their taxes, and doctors got paid for their services, operating rooms were running adequately and appeared to be fine.

Then Brian Mulroney became prime minister and changed the funding formula of the program.  Under Mulroney the federal government ended up paying roughly 25 cents for every dollar spent.  Then Jean Chretien becomes prime minster and between him and Paul Martin, health care was cut again forcing the provinces to make cuts to health care services.  Apparently now, the federal government puts in about 11 cents for every dollar spent by the provinces.  But that's not the end of the problem.

Hospitals had to cut their budgets as well.  The end result is that nurses were no longer hired a full time staff.  Benefits have become too expensive so nurses were hired as full time, full time/part time, occasional, temporary, contracted travel nurse.   This kind of staffing entered into nursing homes and retirement homes and long term care homes.  The end result has been that more nurses are working in some cases as many as 4 to 5 different places in order to obtain a 40 hour week.

When nurses are asked what they would like, mots of them say a position as one place where they can put in a 40 hour week.  But no one was nor are listening.  Yes it has been suggested that anyone in the health care system should be working only at one place, but again only deaf ears prevail.

Everyone knows what the problems are.  Covid-19 didn't have to appear to show how devastating the health care program has become.  The answers are there to fix the problems but no one appears to have stepped up to the plate and actually take action.

The federal government needs to restore health care payments to the early year standards when the program was actually working.  Yes for every dollar spent by the province, the federal government needs to kick in a dollar as well.  The provinces need to make it mandatory that health care workers from nurses to psw can only work at one place, with a 40 hour week.  There needs to be a quota set again that for every six patients, there is one nurse, and that nurses can not be replaced with psw, nurses aids, or part time staffing of any sort.

To be honest, health care workers hours need to return to 8 hours shits complete with two 15 minute breaks and an hour lunch.  In other words, health care has gone all over the boards and have done nothing to improve the working conditions and services.  A return to the original programs would restore continuity to the health care system and actually employ more people.  Contracting of staff should be ended and all hospitals, nursing homes right to retirement homes should be hiring their own staff. 

These are just ideas and suggestions.  The health care system is failing Canadians and it is the direct result of governments cuts to health care and the way hospitals to retirement homes staff create their staffing needs.  Canadians need to know that when a hospital talks about shortage of bed, they are saying they just don't have the staff to care for the patients that would be in those beds.

If anything covid, sars, flue, emergency services have shown the problems over and over again with no one willing to restore the universal health care system from top to bottom.  Everyone knows what's wrong.  No one is there.

If we close our eyes to the present, we will have learned nothing for the future.

 At present through out Canada, the power to close stores, businesses and places of worship has been handed over to a group that were never meant to be entitled to these powers.  Like anyone or any organization that have been given sweeping powers, they have become corrupted.  

The local health unit was never meant to be given powers to lock down whole communities, restrict what can stay open and what can't.  The doctors in charge of the regional health units and doctors that act as advisors to the governments have found themselves in positions of power.  Power that was never meant to be given them, and yet the federal government and the provincial governments have given such powers and powers of influence.

There doesn't even appear to be a sharing of powers between the governments and these doctors.  It appears that the elected governments have "washed their hands" of any decisions being made concerning lockdowns, and given the doctors of health units the power of crucifying anyone who does not conform to the controls being imposed.  The populations are at the whim of these doctors, who have the support and backing of the governments despite the governments "washing of hands".

It appears that the churches have taken up the call of "persecution" by governments and health unit heads.  The church is not the only ones though.  There are business owners who have challenged these lockdown orders.  People who have been forced into government internment camps are also fighting back.  The number of violations being committed by both governments and health units is staggering.  It has never happened in Canadian history before, where so many are challenging the "authoritarian controls" of the governments and health unit doctors.

The interference of religious services is a clear violation of section 176(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.  This section makes it clear that no one has the authority nor right to stop the practices of coming together to worship.   These sections of the Criminal Code of Canada and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms have been violated over and over again.  Such blatant actions need to be challenged and need to be heard in the courts, all the way up to the Supreme Court of Canada.

The federal government has never brought into effect, the Emergency Measures Act.  This act is the only piece of legislation capable of castrating Canada of all rights and freedoms.   As long as the Emergency Measures Act is not imposed, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the Constitution of Canada takes precedent over all provincial and local government laws and policies as dictated by the British North America Act of 1867 and the Constitution Act of 1983 concerning the distribution of power.

For the provincial governments to say that their provincial emergency measures acts or policies are in effect, the reality is that they are not.  Their attempts to supersede federal powers by using their provincial powers is a direct violation of the Constitution of Canada.  The Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Constitution can not be violated until the federal government passes the Emergency Measures Act which is has not.

The challenges are there.  The challenges are being made in the courts where they should be.  If we close our eyes to the present situations, it will be easier in the future for governments to make rash choices knowing that the people don't really care.  It is important that the courts hear these challenges.  It is important that the population of Canada stand up and demand answers to being controlled like sheep to the slaughter.  Without challenging, we have learned nothing that will save the future from total authoritarian rule regardless if that rule if fascist or communist.  

Elections Canada is looking for spaces

 

I was in an office this morning when was told by a very very good source that Elections Canada is looking for buildings that are suitable for a voting station.  Yes that is right.  An election could be on the way this year, instead of waiting for 2022 when the next federal election is suppose to be.,

This is why trudeau has been attempting to pass laws that he knows will divide the country, laws that he knows will put the rural communities against urban and city dwellers.   On top of this trudeau already knows that Eastern Canada will vote liberal.  He is sure of that and knows that they will do as they are expected.  He also knows that he will receive a lot of votes from Quebec, and all he has to do is make sure the Greater Toronto, Hamilton, Area which includes Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, North York, Peel region and New Market be given what they want and they will vote liberal, especially since the key piece of legislation is "gun control".  Ottawa will also vote liberal and so will Sudbury.

As far as the rest of Ontario which is basically rural, they don't vote liberal so he really doesn't care as long as cities like London and Windsor give him a seat or two.  The western provinces from Manitoba to British Columbia, he could are less about because there aren't enough seats in the west to worry about nor care about.

Remember the last federal election trudean spent 80% of the time in the GTHA and only made token appearances to maintain his voting centers.   

The NDP has said that they will not give trudeau an excuse to call an election, however trudeau can go to the Chief Justice (usually its the Governor General) and explain that he can not run the country effectively and ask that parliament be dissolved and a general election called.  He has that option and it would not surprise me if he doesn't go that route because he wants an election so bad right now.

Now that I have heard that Elections Canada is looking for places to have as voting stations, an election is a sure thing before the summer is over.
