Shooting of Jacob Blake -- what are we missing here?

I have watched this video a few times and I am still somewhat confused as to what actually happened.

Now before anyone gets their shorts tied in knots, relax, breath in and slowly exhale.

Something took place on the day Jacob was shot.  At the beginning of the video, you see the officers have confronted him for some sort of domestic altercation.  The problem begins with Jacob not following the instructions the officers were giving him.

He did not comply with their instructions and ignored their demands and proceeds to get into his SUV.  At that point his is grabbed by an officer.  Up unto this point, Jacob is in the wrong for not complying with the officers and most likely resisting an act of lawful arrest.

After this point, the officers begin to step into a grey area to a black area.   First of all there were enough officers to perform an arrest without drawing their side arms.  For what ever reason they had their side arms out, we do not really know.  But the officers continue to maneuver into the black zone of no return.

The three officers could have apprehended Jacob, put him in handcuffs and that would have been the end of it.  Because they had their guns out, there was intent to use them and that is where I say the officers were wrong.  There was another avenue that they could have and should have taken, and there was no need to pull out their side arms.

They could have allowed Jacob to leave, as they likely already had his personal information and just follow him home or serve him with an arrest warrant at a later date.  There are always alternatives beyond lethal force.

The rioting is not warranted to be honest as many use the demonstration to loot stores and cause havoc for just the sake of doing so.

The event of Jacob Blake has now been politicalized and excuse of rioting has made the shooting of Jacob Blake nothing more than an excuse to vilify the police and give reason for looting.  The reality of what has taken place has been lost in the massive excuses being demonstrated.

Elijah Harper, in thought

I viewed a movie today entitled "Elijah".  It was about the the passing of the Meach Lake Accord during the Mulroney period when he was Prime Minister of Canada.

The Meach Lake Accord needed to be ratified be every province before it could become law.  The accord gave Quebec special status as a "nation with in a nation" while at the same time never recognizing the First Nations people of Canada.

Elijah Harper was a member of the Manitoba provincial legislature and he recognized that if the accord was passed, it would exclude all First Nations from any further negotiations in any Canadian dealings with Canada's First Nations.

Since each provincial parliament needed to ratify the accord, Manitoba and New Foundland were the only two provinces left to ratify the accord.

Elijah Harper voted against the Meach Lake Accord and caused it to be reintroduced to the legislature through the proper proceedings and rules.  The accord was not introduced in the legislature according the parliamentary rules, so the accord had to go back to the beginning in order to be properly introduced.

The time table was very close and by the time it was reintroduced and once more voted against by Elijah Harper, the accord failed to become law in Canada.

The accord was seen only as a means to keep Quebec from separating from Canada.  Quebec was being given special status, which would not have been given to First Nations people.  The side agreement to the accord only paid lip service to First Nations, and did absolutely nothing except see Quebec as one of "two founding nations" being recognized in Canada.

Amongst personal threats from people against his life, Elijah Harper stood strong to make a better place for First Nations through out Canada.  He was threatened by individuals, threatened by Mulroney when he sent his "boys" who were told to solve the problem and in a hurry.  On the final day, it was understood that the Manitoba legislature would not be passing the accord, they also took offense to the tactics used by Mulroney in his attempt to sway members of the Manitoba legislature.

The result of the "death" of Meach Lake was not a drastic as Mulroney would vow it would be.  Yes Quebec attempted to separate but in the two and perhaps three attempts, the people of Quebec have always voted in favour of staying part of Canada.

In the federal election after the accord, Mulroney resigned as leader and appointed Ms. McDonald to Canada's first female Prime Minister.  The end result of the federal election saw the conservative party reduced to only two seats in the House of Commons, and the Reform Party take the lead to become the Opposition in the House of Commons.

Elijah Harper was elected to federal politics under the Chretien government and served his constituency well and was an outspoken advocate for Indigenous Rights in Canada and abroad.

At the rededication of the Canada's War Memorial at Vimy Ridge, Prime Minister Steven Harper recognized First Nations People as a third founding nation of Canada.  That was something that no other Prime Minister had ever done.

I don't know how the Honorable Elijah Harper would see the First Nations people and their disunity, which seems to be seen all over Canada in that the elected councils are being challenged by the hereditary councils and others who claim not to recognize the elected councils.  It would be difficult for me or anyone to really say how Elijah would see this.

He saw himself as a First Nations first, a Canadian second.  There are difficulties at this time and what we actually need is a man like Elijah Harper to step in.

A rant that needs to be read by everyone.

I need to rant for just a moment. I'm getting old and I’ve worked hard all my life. I have made my reputation, the good and the bad, I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I have worked hard to get where I am in life. I have juggled my job, my family, and made many sacrifices up front to secure a life for my family. It wasn’t always easy and still isn't, but I did it all while maintaining my integrity and my principles. I’ve never put anyone beneath myself or denied help to anyone. I have friends of every walk of life and if you’re in my circle, it should be understood that I don’t have to remind you of what I’d be willing to do for you. However....

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. People who have sacrificed nothing and feel entitled to receive everything.

I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it themselves.

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which, no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talk like their opinions matter to the common man. I’m tired of any of them even pretending they can relate to the life and bank account that I have.

I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I’m upset that I’m labeled as a racist because I am proud of my heritage. I never stole any ones land, the government did that..

I’m tired of being told I need to accept the latest fad or politically correct stupidity or befriending a group that’s intent in killing me because I won’t convert to their point of view.

I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. Especially the ones that want me to fund it. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I'm really tired. But, I'm also glad to be in the second half of my life. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are creating

No one is entitled to anything. You have a choice to work, a choice to stay off drugs, a choice to make something of yourself. I have nothing to do with your choice. That's all on you. You are entitled to what you earn.

There is no way these thoughts will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! Surely, the politically correct police censors will try to quiet us.

If you're “tired” too, feel free to copy and paste. I copied this from a friend and you are welcome to do same if you agree!!!

The Restrictions are making going anywhere questionable.

I just got an email from the church where I attend.  In it are the procedures by which the church will be operating starting in September 13, 2020.  The procedures are so restrictive, that I wonder if going to church is even purposeful.

There will be no singing, no hand shakes, everyone must wear a mask and there will be no socializing after the service or before.  Every odd pew will be roped off, and social distancing will be expected.  One can only sit with their immediate family or social circle.  If you are not part of an attending circle, you sit alone.

I am not sure if these restrictions are really a form of persecution, but these come from the head office of the United Church of Canada.  So it is difficult to not comply with the expectations that are being placed on the congregations.

I do know of churches where the congregation do sing, and do socialize and do participate in their worship services.   So why the restrictions?

But this is not just church.  All clubs and organizations must comply with a stringent formality that would cause anyone to question why bother.  Many clubs are loosing members because of these restrictions.  Some clubs like businesses have closed their doors and have ended the club all together.

My question for myself then is this:  Should I bother returning to church, a place where I am rejuvenated and experience an up lifting of the spirit/soul, where I can connect with others.  Now I wonder if there is any reason of participating when all reasons to participate have been stripped away.

Society has become so paranoid.  Are these restrictions so demanding that people feel there is no longer any reason to associate with others.  In my gut feeling I believe that these restrictions are wrong, wrong, wrong.  But I will not be heard I know.  I will protest in my own way, but will not be heard.  I now have to decide whether or not I am able to attend church services under the restricted terms that we are being forced to observe.

Here We Go Again. Who's In Charge?

Once more, Caledonia is in the midst of a land dispute with members of the Six Nations Reserve.  But this time there is a different twist.  The question still though is; Who's is really in charge?

Negotiations apparently were successful between the "elected council of the Six Nations" and a land developer in the Caledonia area.  Despite that the land agreement was made, and the Six Nations received money for the sale of the land, it did not go well.

The "hereditary council" did not like the deal.  The hereditary council does not recognize the elected council.   The end result is that members who support the hereditary council camped out on the land in question as a demonstration against the deal.  The developer who has paid for the land, and has an agreement with the Elected Council applied for a court order for the demonstrators vacate the land in question.

The Ontario Provincial Police arrived and removed the demonstrators so that development could resume.  The hereditary council then returned to the blocking off of Argyle Street and the Hiway 6 bypass.  Fires have been lit with tires across Argyle Street and of course the opportunity has risen for demonstration, protest, and destruction.

This is a near repeat of the stand off when Douglas Creek Estates development was occupied.  There were 29 fully functional homes already built when the hereditary council demanded the land be returned to them.  At that time the McGuinty government of Ontario bought the land from the developer and gave it to the protestors who have since fenced off the area declaring it theirs.  The 29 homes have been destroyed completely and there isn't a trace of them left.  This is the work of the hereditary council it appears.

One of the excuses used that land needed to be taken so Six Nations could use it for housing.  So far nothing has been done, the houses that were built are gone and the land just sits.  The hereditary council have claimed victory so now they are looking at doing the same with this new development.

Here's the rub as I understand it.  The Elected Council is suppose to be in charge.  They have been elected by the people of the Six Nations.  The elected chief is a young and intelligent person.  He is popular and is well educated.  He is perhaps one of the best chiefs that has ever been elected.

So what is going on?  The hereditary council wants to be in control.  They want their positions restored, meaning that the voices of the people of the Six Nations is meaningless and of no importance.  Those who support the hereditary council appear to be happy with being told what to do by a group who's hereditary back ground is being questioned as to the proof that they in fact have a hereditary claim.

So who's in charge?  That's the question.  Who is in charge?  Why are the people's voice not being heard as to who they want to be in charge.  This has been the problem across Canada.  The elected councils are being ignored by the hereditary councils who have this desire of power.

The end result is that like the Douglas Creek Estates, nothing will be done with the land and it will just sit there undeveloped, not even used by the Six Nations themselves, and this is the victory that the hereditary council believe is great.

Meanwhile the people's voice of the Six Nations is being ignored and pushed aside by the hereditary council and their supporters.  It needs to be known that the hereditary council does not represent the majority of the people living on Six Nations.  The majority voice is being squashed and ignored.

So who's in charge; and why are the majority of the people not standing up and saying enough is enough and support the Elected Council.

The Union of the Socialist Provinces of Canada.

Today I wore a face mask as required by law.  I complied with the demands of the local municipal government, complied against my will.  I wore the mask under duress for if I did not, I would be facing a huge fine if caught.   At times I thought it would be worth it to see if I could get away with with it.

The resulting effort of wearing the mask ended in anger and being totally pissed off.  My glasses were fogging up, I couldn't see to complete the transactions required.  In both cases I threw the mask off my face in anger.

I can understand the "reasoning" if you want to call it that.  I call it fear mongering.  I call it the beginning blows to civil liberties, civil rights, what ever you want to call it.  Canadians are being manipulated with fear to roll over and just accept these restrictions and demands without so much as a whimper.

It's the bigger issue of population control that is being exercised.  It is to see how far the population can be pushed before they have realized the loss of their civil rights and freedoms as Canada continues to run, not walk or even march to the socialist agenda being created by the governments of Canada.  And if you argue or go against the prevailing winds, you are punished and slandered accordingly.

The provincial government is walking very close to the line demanding that everyone "need" to go in to a testing area and be tested for covid-19, of which it is now being understood that the tests being conducted have a failure rate of showing a false positive.  Some places have told the individual they have the covid-19 when the person really doesn't have it.  The object appears to be the causation of people to stay in isolation.

There are other problems that will be on the horizon and it has already been hinted at.  Apparently there are concepts being researched by the federal and provincial governments to demand mandatory vaccination of the whole population.  Those that don't comply could loose jobs, loose incomes, be isolated from society, and ordered to face fines or confinement of some sort.  We are being forcibly taken into the jaws of socialism and no one is kicking and screaming in opposition.

One only has to look at the history of European countries to see how simple fascism and communism took over countries because the people allowed it to happen.  This very same mindset is being seen today where it should have been seen.  The continued concept that the government knows what is best for the population is the perfect teachable lie that the public is swallowing without any idea of what is going on.  Their infatuated ideology has been indoctrinated into the public, knowing that the population will comply without question.

Welcome to the Union of Socialist Provinces of Canada.
